I bought this because my truck dashboard started to crack badly. I used this tool and it basically melts the plastic and inserts the hot clamp into the center of the material. Pretty Pen is a small tool. Fairly quickly warms up to an orange glow in 5-10 seconds. In general I'm happy.

This is an indispensable tool. It's very easy to use and the results are fantastic. The repair I did today involved the mounting brackets and trim around the stereo and heater controls on a 20 year old Jag. I also repaired the square mounting holes in the dash to look like wood grain. The repaired sections could not have been stronger. I would highly recommend this to anyone. If it's plastic and broken, this will fix it.

At first I was looking for a plastic welder to repair motorcycles, motorbikes and car parts. I came across this construction stapler by accident, read some reviews and decided to buy it. I have to say I'm impressed with how quickly these braces heat up. I'm impressed with the weight of the tool, I think it weighs 3 to 4 pounds. I put together a couple of plastic ball shells that were lying around and were pretty fun to play with for the first test. +

The gun itself has two problems once unpacked. 1) The power cord seal was not in the case, which allowed it to pull out and cause serious problems. (see photo) I had to unscrew the handle and put the trunk in as it should have been. 2) The LED does not work at all. I was disappointed as one of the parts I needed to fix today was in a dark location and an LED would have been very helpful.
