Doesn't support connection

It's a nice device and when it works it does what it's supposed to. I was disappointed that it doesn't have an audio jack. The regular Surface Dock has it, and it never occurred to me that this product wouldn't have it. I have a USB audio adapter to deal with this (so I only have one USB now). The main problem with the device is that it doesn't stay in place. As light and small as it is, it's still easy to knock out of the Surface's ports.

Unstable best in docking stations

This item looked good. I connected it directly to my Surface 6. Unfortunately it wasn't a good connection. I had Cat 6 plugged in and it didn't work at all. I had to use wifi (not as fast as me). Other ports worked fine, but the device connection was unstable. I no longer use it and am looking for something better. I would not recommend this product.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Low repairability

Worked great. Hasn't worked yet

I have enjoyed this port replicator throughout the year that I have used it. So comfortable, versatile, portable for travel, didn't feel flimsy, much cheaper than the Microsoft DS on offer and worked really well. This allowed me to use the Surface Pro like a real desktop PC and then take it with me on trips like a real laptop. Happy story - until about two weeks ago I lost the ability to connect to an external monitor. I've spent hours fixing the problem, installing new drivers, etc., but…

Really useful addition to Surface Pro

This device plugs in, loads drivers automatically and works. You can connect an Ethernet cable without a dongle and get more USB ports. I haven't tried the HDMI port yet, but the onboard card readers make it easy to transfer photos and data. I also have an MS Dock for the Surface Pro, but this device is lighter, smaller, and almost as useful, but costs a lot less.

Works Electronics

Works. First, I wanted to be able to connect to Ethernet and plug in a USB drive. With only one USB port on the Surface (and not even USB-C), such an adapter comes in very handy. I just wish it was metal like aluminum and not plastic. he fits It works as described. Sometimes it seems that it doesn't connect well to the surface, but there haven't been any problems. I keep it in my backpack and carry it when needed.

Pros
  • A Dream Come True
Cons
  • Later I will add

Dock works as described. When connecting an HDMI cable and an Ethernet cable, the docking station wobbles slightly. This movement can disable the HDMI signal, requiring you to disconnect and reconnect the dock to your Microsoft Surface Pro. The portability of this dock makes it more versatile than the Microsoft dock. If the Mini-DVI port or lack of high-speed networking options on the Surface Pro is holding you back, I highly recommend this dock! Used on Microsoft Surface Pro 5 (2017 release).

Great when it works

Product fits very well, SD card reader is fast, USB ports are fast. The problem is that since I use my Surface Pro6 for work, I need to connect to the network using a Cat5 CABLE. As soon as I plug anything into either port, it kicks me off the network. Then I have to reset it and pray I don't lose my job. I have two other similar docking stations and they work great, but they don't have the high speed SD card reader that I need. I believe this part is just defective but I have been unable to…

Only one of the two USB ports connects automatically after a reboot

I love my Surface Pro, but its main drawback is the lack of USB ports. Only one mouse or one external keyboard can be connected to a USB port, but not both at the same time. When I first saw this device I was so excited I thought I found the solution. When the package arrived I was dying to test it. I immediately noticed that the mouse and keyboard USB ports are difficult to plug into this dock (they fit easily into the Surface Pro with no issues), I had to push so hard I was afraid the USB…
