Surprisingly good replica of what I remember

I was hesitant to buy the newer version rather than jumping eBay and getting the old one from the 80's/90's (whenever that was). It's actually a great build and a fun alternative if you're used to playing Scrabble. We love wordplay and it helps to break things down in a logical, familiar and interesting way.

Perfect for Scrabble/Bananagram lovers

I bought Upwords as a Father's Day gift for my dad who LOVES all word games. We played Scrabble all the time, and when it came out they added bananaograms. Upwords takes a unique approach to spelling/word games by turning them into 3D. It was difficult and unusual, and most importantly, it floored my dad! Anything that gets the whole family turning their eyes away from the screens is a winner in my opinion! I think it would also be great for younger kids who are still learning how to spell…

Love this game but cheaply made

I have enjoyed playing this game for years and wish I had the old version because it has been improved. My dislike is purely cosmetic; and I have admittedly a low tolerance for it. The board is supposed to spin like Lazy Susan, but it's cheap plastic and I don't want to put up with that. I put the board on the real lazy Susan. The Upwords label on the front of the game popped up almost immediately. I glued it and it came out again. Will leave a hole in the box if you can't stick it. Finally, I…

Fun game but cheap

I played this game over 20 years ago and thought about buying it again and finally bought it. The game itself is great and a lot of fun. We're Scrabble players so this is a welcome change. The turntable and game board are fairly cheaply made. For those who had the original, this isn't nearly as high quality. The biggest complaint I have is that letter tiles that look the same when you change orientation aren't checked. For example M and W or N and Z. You can't tell them apart so we had to tag…

Tiles are difficult to lay

My husband and I have been playing games almost every day for over 25 years. I wanted to replace the tile because after several uses (and sometimes washing) the letters became difficult to read. Unfortunately, the version with the same large tile design as our current set only had 64 tiles instead of 100. I ended up with this 100 piece set not only because of the number of tiles, but also because they were described as connected. Unfortunately the tiles are small and very difficult to fold as…

Fun family game: Tile Games

I have two children who can play this game. Relatively. 9 and 6 years old. While at least one of them isn't very good at forming new words using given letters, they generally do pretty well with a little help. This is a great little game for the whole family to play and I love how they can stack tiles and change words without constantly adding new words. My only doubt (and that goes for most games in general): you think the game fits back in the box, don't you? Well there is, but it's a bit…

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Can't remember

Я любил эту игру на протяжении десятилетий и с любовью вспоминаю, как еженедельно играл в Upwords с бабушкой во время просмотра фильма Цена Прямо как Small child. No wonder the gameplay is the same as I remember it. I see it as a faster and easier version of Scrabble. I find the games much faster as you can only drop one or two tiles on the board per round and still score a lot of points. I remember the old version I played was HEAVY ON THE BROWN. The board, the box, the tile stands are all…

Pros
  • Отличная цена

  • Большая и громоздкая
