I just finished a 165 mile hike in Maine and use these leggings every day. You have held up well. Although the cord attaching the gaiters to the boot was frayed (lots of rough rocks and roots), this was normal. You really don't need a cable. The gaiters stayed in place with no cord. The gaiters were very effective in protecting my boots from dirt and keeping my socks dry from the morning dew. I highly recommend them when short leggings are needed. David Sheffield

They are a perfect match for my husband. He actually uses them for work. He is outdoors most of the time and needed something to reduce the moisture and cold seeping in around his work boots and ankles as he cannot wear taller boots. We finally found a steel toe boot that fits his toe size, comfortable but only ankle high. These protectors also wash very well, as does my husband, they get very dirty and I wash them every week and let them air dry. Definitely recommend!

I go to the desert and see a lot of brushes that shed prickly thorns, stalks and anything that might stick to you. They protect my shoes and socks from these problems. However, where I go, there is rough, rocky terrain (no sidewalks) and the lace under the boot wears out quickly. I've seen it work and I can replace that cord with a very long lace material. I ordered these gaiters for hiking on dusty gravel paths and single trails in sneakers. They work very well. With a little experimentation to figure out which laces to hook into to get good wrap and velcro alignment, I can attach and wrap these gaiters in just a few seconds. I use them when sawing wood with a chainsaw to keep the wood chips out of my boots and socks. While I haven't used them long enough to appreciate their durability, they appear to be well constructed from durable materials. I appreciate their simplicity and the ability to wear them over shoes instead of putting them on before you put your shoes on. The width at the bottom is a little narrow at 7 1/2 inches, but it adequately covers the top of my low-cut sneakers, mid-to-high boots.
