Powerful Electrode - Get the Job Done!

This electrode is the perfect tool for industrial power needs. My analysis of this product showed that it's extremely durable and can be used for a variety of welding projects. The US Forge Specialty Electrode produces a consistent arc even when used on worn or rusty material. The downside, however, is that it requires a bit of skill to use properly. But once you master it, the benefits are worthwhile.

    Pros
    • Highly versatile electrode suitable for welding a wide range of metals including, steel, cast iron, and copper.
    Cons
    • Some users may find it difficult to use without prior welding experience and it may require more skill and practice to achieve good results.

Not very friendly for an 80 year old cast iron. .

Not very friendly for an 80 year old cast iron. Heated cleanly to 1100°. Prepared and even preheated bars up to 250°. I had to repair the part with nickel solder.

    • Welder
    Cons
    • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Job as advertised: Welding and Soldering

These electrodes worked as advertised. I used one to fix a broken cast iron leg from an old wood stove. I grounded the mating surfaces, preheated the rosebud tip leg on an acetylene oxy-torch, and used DC+ polarity at 75 amps. The bar is being welded. After cooling the beam in the sand bucket, there were no cracks in the weld and the surrounding metal.
