MacBook requires SIP disabled

I bought this for a late 2010 MacBook Air so I can change some settings on the router. The problem is NOT worth it, but if you own this device and need it for what I needed it for, you need to disable SIP on Mac before it can work. I've tried downloading new drivers online, from disk, everything, and as soon as I disabled SIP everything worked. SUPER SLOW but it worked. That detail should be added to the sales info and if you're buying this to surf the web I'd warn you and buy a $30 Appleโ€ฆ

Pros
  • networking products
Cons
  • crumpled

It works. 2.0 = Slow Good for USB Network Adapter

A little bulky and can wear out USB ports if pulled in one direction. The materials aren't the best and it only gives me around 0.5-2Mbps. Good for checking email or downloading drivers on a laptop with Wi-Fi issues. I use it to connect my homemade rollovers to the rj45 CLI so speed is not an issue. In the end I just broke down and bought a USB to RJ45 console cable so I don't use it often but it's good for emergencies so I'm giving it 4 stars for value for money.

Pros
  • USB Network Adapter
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised

Great performance and value - RECOMMENDED

Great performance at a price you need. & fast ship. (Wi-Fi is not allowed in my office.) (My snazzy slim mobile workstation came with an Eth adapter cable, but the dog ๐Ÿถ liked it better ๐Ÿ˜ ). outstanding and prone to bumps when the laptop is on my lap, but usually it's on the table. Although its design is more suited to a stationary desktop, it is still 100% efficient for a laptop. I would buy again if I needed it.

Pros
  • Computers and Accessories
Cons
  • Good, but not great

Be careful they all have the same MAC address

This NIC is based on the Advent DM9601 chip and they all have the same MAC address (00:e0:4c:53:44:58). Not a big problem for most people, but you can't use two of these on the same network because your router won't know which is which. Otherwise great for the price, I use it with a Raspberry PI Zero and it works great without modifications and is automatically recognized and configured by the Raspberry OS. Later edited, after a few more days of use, I see that it runs at USB 1.1 (12MB) speedโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • ill thought out
