Inexpensive and fun to drive a fairly powerful stepper motor up to 3.5A/36V and up to 32 microsteps

Hard to complain at this price, it drives my 2.2- A-NEMA stepper motor perfectly at 23 at 24V from full steps to 32 microsteps. However, you do need a small amount of airflow to the heatsink. Be careful with removable locking blocks, can they be used in places? Glad I double checked before turning it on.

Worst item I have ever bought online

Well the first one put an exploding dart right in my face. After checking the wiring everything looked fine. I thought maybe I did something wrong so I'll buy another one with my own money. The second was dead on arrival. Returned it for a third and there is a shirt in it. There is also a serious problem with the screws in this device. They don't screw in fully. They don't tighten, making them unusable for any real-world application.

Randomly disconnects after a few minutes

Got 2 of these and 3 from another TB6600 based driver distributor. Both will randomly turn off every few minutes, the power LED will turn off even though it's not hot, and there will be no overcurrent/temperature alarms. You can turn them on and off and they'll come right back, but still don't have acceptable reliability for real projects. I've tried the current limit settings and changed the input supply voltage from 22-23V to no avail. Other TB6600s from a different manufacturer workedโ€ฆ
