This Utah air fitting with push-on air fitting (3/8" OD 1/4" NPT) works great with our water softener brine tank hose on the softener head (Autotrol 460i). It must withstand the full pressure of the water in the house and the negative pressure of the brine. He does it!

I have used these for plumbing and air lines and they work great you really feel the two stage seal and the detachable fitting is easy to use and remove very safe . I've used them on many different types of tubing with no problem, including flexible airline, copper, and various types of semi-rigid plastic tubing.

They have good threads. The 2-stage seal can be felt, the retaining flange has an elongated shape, which makes it easy to loosen and separate the fitting from the hose if necessary. I use them for both air and water at over 100psi with no problems, they are a bit larger than I expected but they should be very good quality.
