Size, shape and weight. I have 2 colanders to make extra toppings when cooking a turkey for a large crowd; I put some turkey drumsticks on top of the extra stuffing for flavor, but that can make the stuffing soggy. I play a lot at home and when I pull out this colander to drain pasta or rinse veggies everyone wants to know where I got it. The coolest part is how quickly it depletes. It's not a fine mesh, but it works for most things. I wasn't sure about the quality when I bought it at this price but it has been used heavily and I don't see any signs of wear.

I have owned this screen for about two years. The size is perfect for a typical "household kitchen" and the price seems fair enough. Unfortunately, after about 1 year of use, one of the handles fell off. This is probably due to multiple runs through the washing machine. I still use this strainer but now I have to hold one side with a hot pad. All in all not a bad deal for the price but there are probably better quality screens out there.
