Works great, check engine light removed.

Works great so far! The car generated a CEL code for the knock sensor. The store said it would be at least $175. I made it myself for $12 and five minutes of work. The Check Engine light has been off for two days now and the car definitely idles better and seems to have a little more power at low rpm. I will update if anything changes. Check out YouTube, there are several videos on how to replace this knock sensor on a Subaru. A few helpful tips and all you need is a 12mm socket with an…

Identical to OEM for parts

I was annoyed with the MIL light coming on on the dash and was busy clearing the DTC for the knock sensor code every week. Knowing the defective sensor, I simply ignore the replacement due to the high cost of the original part on my old car as there were no engine operation issues. In the end I just gave up and lived with the MIL light on until I found this after market knock sensor at an affordable low price. I've tried it and it seems to work just like the OEM and the MIL fault light hasn't…

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Took about 10 minutes to install mainly because I soaked the screw with a PB blaster just in case. The Check Engine light was off and the car's acceleration improved significantly, no more hesitation when I hit the gas to head onto the freeway. When installing a new one, DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE SCREW. Tight is fine, you don't want to break the screw. Watch some videos about it, grab some extensions and a 12mm ratchet socket and you're good to go. There can't be a price here, the local store…

only last year. Poor

So far so good, it has been installed and has been working fine for about two months. One from the auto parts store is about $100, so it was worth it. There isn't much of a difference with aftermarket parts, they either work or they don't, just make sure the end of the connector matches yours and the screw needs to be torqued correctly. I think 15 kilos, but I can't think of it now. ;-) Ok update a year later I get the po325 knock sensor code again. I think this time I'll bite the bullet and…

  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Something different

The detonation couldn't be better

First, the price is incredible. Or, more likely, the price is reasonable and other brands that cost $60-80 are heavily inflated! ;) It also works great. The CEL that came and went is gone now and the engine runs noticeably better. In fact, it will feel at its best in a few years (I wonder how long my old knock sensor has been bad, but not bad enough to throw out the CEL). Replacing is extremely easy if you can handle a single screw. and a plug, and plug them back in. A socket extender is a must

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Some bugs

Sluggish Subaru Forester Fix

My 2002 Forester was a wimp, bought it used and it never worked properly, expected acceleration just wasn't there, we replaced O2 sensors, catalytic converters, installed a new head. Gaskets, radiator, water pump, spark plugs, rocker cover gasket, valves adjusted, idle motor replaced, throttle position sensor and other things adjusted and it never worked properly, he worked out the knock sensor code and my local auto parts store wanted $60 for a new aftermarket sensor, bought this for less than

Pros
  • This is amazing

So far so good, best in spares

Replacement for 2000 Forester 2.5. The only issue is cleaning the screw hole when swapping out, which I found to be a common hard problem. I didn't want to mess up the stripped hole due to the age and miles on the car so I moved the hole to the back of the original location which was factory tapped the same way (lazy and easy to fix). PS Welding JB also failed. Doesn't quite match the entire surface in the original position @ 80% but it worked fine in that position with no ck eng! to be…

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
