Holds only with the supplied seal. Good part!

I had to scrape a bunch of sealant off my block before putting this on. The gasket that came with it seems to work well. The car accelerates to about 204-206 and then drops to 199f. Exactly where he should be.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • upgradeable

Great price, works great

Worked great for a short time when installed. Great price and well worth it if you need a new one or if you are working on a cooling system on a BMW overnight and are also replacing the thermostat. It's easy to do while changing the radiator or installing a surge tank.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Good alternative to OEM parts

Straight fit. There are no leaks under the gasket. I felt like the thermostat didn't open for the first few days, but after a hard ride everything is fine. I've bled the system a few times, so maybe I had an airlock somewhere in the system that needed a good bleed to get rid of it. Looks cheap but is cheap. Good for getting rid of code p1620. Bought for 325i 2002

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No performance

Didn't last long in engine cooling and air conditioning

So I got this 2 weeks ago. Just put it on. Worked fine until yesterday, no problems. It got hot briefly, then back to normal. Fast forward to today. ride is ok On the way home it starts to overheat. I replaced everything in my cooling system one at a time when it used to fail until I replaced this thermostat. The overheating used to be intermittent so I started with the fan, coolant flush/bleed and temp gauge and finally the thermostat as the intermittent overheating felt more like aโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Was damaged
