I replaced two old cracked oilers on my steam engine. These new ones work great. They are plated rather than solid brass but look very nice. For the price they can't be beat! They actually cost less than replacing glass with old.

Bought 3 of these for my 1920 Van Norman Milling Machine. Installed them in place of the Gits valve stem seals for my countershaft. Works perfectly to keep the shaft and bearings lubricated. Received my package very quickly with free shipping. I would recommend them to everyone.

This otherwise very good unit has a design flaw. If for any reason the housing deviates from the vertical position, the oil in the sight glass will flow and create a capillary path along the edge of the glass and you will no longer see oil droplets. In this case, you must DISASSEMBLE the unit to remove ALL oil from the area before it resumes its intended sight glass function.
