This is a good little vacuum and works well for the most part. Suction power is pretty good, but not as good as larger vacuums or some of the more expensive brands. I found that using the squelch seemed to decrease the suction power, so I just turned it off - I'm used to louder and larger sizes anyway. Just needed a shop vacuum to deal with my pellet smoker's dirt, nothing fancy - no need to break the bank. It has already served me well during the initial cleaning. I bought this vacuum cleaner when I was a freshman in college. This vacuum has been abused the most in 2 years with no problems. Every roommate I had loved this thing.
