Before I started working with the vacuum cleaner, I wanted to keep the cloth filter. So I followed an online suggestion to buy upright vacuum bags at a thrift store, cut them to size, cover the cloth filter and secure it with a metal clip (the kind you attach to your dryer vent). I've been using it for 9 months, mainly for household messes like spilled cat litter and flakes. It replaced a similarly sized small shop vacuum and HP.
