Value Basics Herringbone Kitchen 14 Pack Review

This is the second time I have ordered this or a similar product. The first could be from another seller. I was happy with both. I use these kitchen towels every day. They absorb moisture better and dry faster than most kitchen towels. They are lint free. I have used them for other cleaning purposes in my house. They are inexpensive enough to be disposable. Enough for a bread basket. Good value for money.

Value Basics Striped Kitchen Towel Set had such a horrible/chemical smell when I received it I seriously considered calling the fire department! I didn't send it back because of the loss of value, just threw it away. At least they need to be washed a couple of times before use, but what about the washing machine afterwards? Absolutely not recommended!

Okay, I don't usually use a towel dryer. But since paper towels were scarce, I ordered this set. Towels have a classic bright white color with a bluish-gray stripe. The stripe isn't greasy but more of an accent, allowing the towels to blend into different kitchen decors. The towels have a low weight, which makes them very high quality. But most importantly, the cloths are functional and absorb moisture well, so I can wipe glasses, plates and other utensils without leaving streaks. I plan to buy

I read some comments that after washing they become unusable. I have found that this does not happen at all. I washed them in hot water, dried them in hot water and took them out and they kept their perfect rectangular shape. The first wash didn't make them as absorbent as I would have liked so I had to wash them again. Now they seem a little more absorbent. They clean glass countertops very well without leaving any lint. I love how they look on my stainless steel stovetop.

I'm trying to save money on paper products so I figured these would be good everyday napkins. The towels arrived nicely folded and wrapped in a plastic sleeve. They are made of well-woven cotton fabric; However, with multiple napkins, one edge is asymmetrical. The asymmetry is particularly noticeable when folded (as in the photo). Like an everyday napkin, they serve their purpose; but I would probably take the more expensive cloth napkins. Update: the asymmetry gets worse the more you erase it!

Firstly they are listed as 'extra absorbent' so this was my first test of these towels. I washed the glass and then tried to dry it. I had to fold the towel in new places to fully dry the glass or the water just smeared and *didn't* absorb. The second test spilled about 1/4 cup of water on the counter. Again, the towel basically just smeared the water until I started folding the towel over the new, dry spots. Eventually I wiped the stain away, but the towel was almost completely wet by this…
