Highly recommended, especially for stone pine pellets.

Ideal for pine pellet bedding! Cleaning the litter box was easy with pine pellets and this litter box. Drain the excrement, mix the granules and shake the screen part to remove the sawdust. Did! Easy peasy Highly recommended, especially for stone pine pellets.

EXCELLENT when used with modification!

Read Reviews! Don't just look at the stars! If you read the 5 star reviews most have changed the way the box is used. You place a colander (an off-white tray) in the CENTER of two solid blue trays. Then pour the dirt into a colander, lift, discard and fold again. BREEZE! I was totally obsessed with the Luuup tray and now I'm so glad I waited! I read the reviews and didn't really see anyone happy with it. This box is much more economical and if you use it the way I described above cleaning is…

Suitable for two active cats.

We bought two of these to manage litter for our two overactive bladder cats. This made it easier to scoop the boxes as I can do the whole box in one step rather than multiple scoops. The tank is nice because it holds a lot of junk so I don't feel like it ever overflows or stale and it does a good job of filtering out pretty much all the used junk. I've found our two medium-sized cats toss a small amount of litter over the edge of the lid on occasion, but most of it stays in the box. or the…

2 stars as advertised, 4+ with custom mods

If you're looking to buy this item you seriously need to put a "filter layer" between two solid plates as most other reviewers have suggested. When used as directed by the manufacturer, hardened clumps of dirt get stuck in the filter holes and cleaning becomes a nightmare. (Check out the picture of what 2 cats can do in 2.5 days when I had to leave town for a last minute treatment.) If you place them like this: Upper fixed pan + filter mat Lower fixed pan The cleaning is very simple, almost no…

  • Definitely bad product

Almost perfect - with workarounds

Even if you use pine litter like me others are right that you want to save the screen layer for cleaning which means you save it in the middle until you want to use it. It is useless to keep it on top, since there is no space between the bottom of the sieve and the next layer for the urine-soaked sawdust to fall through and stay alive. It's still not easy to sift one at a time in existing bowls, so I ended up keeping my old, very tall bowl as a sawdust trap. Minor inconveniences aside, now I…

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

I just bought another one and I'll tell you why!

The two most common complaints are: 1. Dirty when dumped. I had no problems with that. You should use common sense and rotate the strainer 45 degrees when pouring. This creates a funnel effect. It means being smarter than what you are working on.2. The liquid filling sticks to the sides and grate. Of course it is! The bedding consists of oven-dried pottery clay. Anyone who has ever dug up clay soil knows how it sticks to shoes. If you walk in a field with wet clay soil, you will gradually grow…
