Fails with heavy use in network cards

Vantec 6-Port 4-Lane SATA 6Gb/s PCIe RAID Host Card with HyperDuo Technology (UGT-ST644R). Should it be advertised with 6 ports when only 4 can be used at the same time? It has six slots. TO UPDATE. Now that I've had it for 8 months, I've found that it crashes from time to time during the nightly automatic backup process. The system has 5 drives connected to SATA III connectors on the motherboard and this card is connected to 3 other drives. Sometimes in the morning I find that all 3 Vantecโ€ฆ

Full flexible for computer and accessories

I bought it for HTPC/Mediaserver. It used to be Windows Home Server 2011, but I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 Pro (64-bit) for better sharing. How to use this Vantec 4-channel 6-port card can be simple or complex, but the user manual that comes with it will explain it to you very well. Your options are really only 4 internal, 2 external, so be aware of that limitation. Here's how it should work: Install the software, shut down the machine, install the card, power the machine back on, andโ€ฆ

  • Good product for the price

This controller started normally. Building a RAID 1 array with 2 x 3TB HGST hard drives. Transferring files and a few VMs to an array. Worked great for about 4 days, after which the array failed. Neither drive was bad, only the mirror broke. Check disk manager, both disks are recognized. In Explorer, however, they had completely different content. One drive had all of the transferred content, but the other drive had almost no data. Keep in mind these drives have had over 4 days to fully syncโ€ฆ

  • Easy installation

  • Slightly dented

Totally messed up graphics output

I bought this card for an external eSATA connection to use with a 4 drive NAS enclosure. Since I thought that Windows would probably install the appropriate driver and that I could install the driver from the CD later, I went ahead and installed the card. After booting into my operating system (Win10) I encountered insanely jumbled graphics on my monitor. Correctly assuming the card was faulty, I turned off the power, removed the card, and rebooted. Of course no graphics problems after theโ€ฆ
