I bought this 10 inch contour gauge for my husband and he loves it! It works great and he will be using it for our new home improvement projects. It's very easy to use, you just place the contour gauge on what you need, fix it (works great!), place it on the element to be cut, circle and cut. Granted, the cutting part can still be annoying because you need the right tools to make the cuts, but other than that, it takes all the guesswork out of it! Great little tool! I like this tool for the price and the narrow "fins" or bars for a more detailed gauge. There are other similar products with 1/8" fins that just wouldn't work for me as they wouldn't give me the detail I wanted. The downside of this product is that these thin fins bend sideways into rounded shapes quite easily and require a little hand pressure to keep them straight when I measure the object.
