I know I choose but at this price the lid should fit snugly to the base. If that still bothers me I'll sand down the corners so it sits flush, but you don't have to do that with a $100+ light.

Looks very nice and will enhance the rustic decor of a small room or hallway. I like the yellow glow. But I wouldn't call it "easy to install". Get ready for some improvisation. The instructions are a bit ambiguous so don't expect them to help you much. Once that has happened, which took a while, great! Plan to use three 40-watt light bulbs (not included).

Although this light is beautiful and well presented in the photo, we were very disappointed when it was installed in the room we are renovating. I bought this to replace a really nice fancy light fixture in my bathroom. The fashionable glass wasn't fixed - it was somehow balanced on the mount, and I hit it while putting it on, and it fell and broke. I chose to do this because it won't happen again. As many have mentioned, the glass on this lamp is amber which dulls the light a bit. If this is your only light source in the room, this will not be enough. However, if you want softer "tuned" lighting, this is a good choice. One thing no one has mentioned yet is heat buildup.
