Ideal for dowel holes

As you can see in my video I made this bit to use with my 3/8 screwdriver. The drill is ideal for drilling VERY HARD oak wood. Oak is actually a 100+ year old barn wood so I needed a very sharp cutter. I have had no problems with this bit and would highly recommend it, especially for dowel holes.

Pros
  • Titanium Coating: hardens drill surface for increased durability in difficult, repetitive conditions; Acts like a lubricant, requires less heat without torque, extends bit life
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen

Perfect ! Best in Electric Drill Parts & Accessories

After struggling to drill through some 3" aluminum forgings, but my normally reliable bits out of the box, was I am infinitely disappointed. bought, and what a difference! The jobber bits I normally use are probably fine for my usual thinner metals (no more than ¼ inch), but they made a world of difference on heavier applications. When I resharpened the cheaper bits by the 3" hole (literally), they weren't dull enough to be noticed.

Pros
  • Tight shank: Tri-Flat shank to securely hold drill chuck
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

If it gets boring quickly then I'll add a review

I bought these for drilling 1/8" or s thick aluminum. As long as they work well. I run them up at about 600 rpm I have a small power drill and have no binding or other issues. I have to drill several hundred holes in relatively thin metal and other materials. I'm curious to see how long these exercises will remain effective. If I get bored quickly, I'll edit this review. Though they do seem to have a good price now Jerry

Pros
  • Material for drilling: carbon steels, alloy steels, wood, composite panels, plastic, PVC, drywall. Application: general purpose drilling. 6X longer life than standard HSS
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
