HD Multimedia LCD Display, ViewSonic VG2021M Review

I bought this monitor to replace my 17" NEC. So far I'm very happy with them. I use a DVI connection with my ATI Radeon XL1800 graphics card. It works great, no dead pixels and good clarity and brightness.

If you want a big screen for your PC and don't need a wide screen, this is the biggest screen you can get these days. I don't use my computer to watch movies (that's what my big screen TV is for), and I don't need it to play games or split the screen in two. I use my computer primarily to surf the Internet, keep my household finances up to date with Quicken, send email, and log into my work computer. I wanted to add an LCD to a 19" Sony Trinitron monitor. The CRT obviously has a great picture. Not being a gamer, my criteria is the text display. I needed to replace an outdated CRT monitor for our retouching and photoset business. I didn't need any of the new "widescreen" monitors and the Viewsonic fitted very well. good color Easy setting.

This is my second ViewSonic flat panel monitor. The graphics on this monitor are amazing. It seems several people bought lemons. I originally purchased the monitor from CompUSA. However, the screen had smudges that I couldn't remove, so I sent it back. I then bought another at the local Micro Center store in my hometown while I was home for Memorial Day. Also, don't let the "I bought a lemon" reviews put you off buying this monitor.

amazing display of colors and textures, one of the best things I've bought in the last year. in front of you look even bigger than you thought. It came with a dead pixel but I still love it.

Great display and great price. The only complaint I have is that the volume control isn't very user friendly, but that doesn't really bother me.

I bought a VG2021m ViewSonic 20 inch LCD monitor in 2007 for my father who used it for at least a few hours almost every day. The ad was great. The monitor became increasingly difficult to turn on/on after pressing the power button until it finally failed in 2012. It was purchased from Fry's Electronics for $290 so I figured it would last longer. My old 15" Samsung LCD from 2002 still works - ten years later.

This is my first experience with such a monitor. I'm happy with the display as I don't need glasses to read the screen. I think your setup instructions could be better. Not sure how good the color is yet, maybe I can make more informed comments after using it for a year. .Arnold Grabois

I have 2 of these. They are very big and very clear. One has a few non-disturbing dead pixels, while the other has no imperfections. Don't be intimidated by the 1400 x 1050 resolution. This is a plus as the lower resolution allows for larger icons and text. Make sure your graphics card can be set to a custom resolution of 1400x1050 or that it has DVI, which should automatically detect the monitor's resolution. Now that I've replaced my wife's CRT with a ViewSonic VG2021m 20-inch multimedia LCD, the cats have more space between the monitor and the keyboard. Now all I have to do is get a wireless mouse and everyone will be happy. My wife likes the size and clarity of the monitor.

I got this monitor for my laptop and PC connected to a KVM switch. The monitor works great with a laptop as it supports 1400 x 1050 resolution. The problem is that I have Vista installed on my computer. I couldn't find a graphics card that natively supports 1400x1050 in VGA mode (my KVM switch only has a VGA port). I just replaced my CRT with a ViewSonic VG2021m 20" LCD and overall it's ok but not perfect. In fact I was debating whether to give it three or four stars but in the end I settled on three, although the most important thing is to ensure a good display. Pros: Bought my 2006. Still using it as my main monitor in 2021. No issues with the display. Works with Windows 11. Cons: Tiny built-in speakers don't reproduce full and rich sound from external speakers. 8 ms response time is good for videos, but not for gaming.
