I bought this to stop my cat from scratching things around the house, it didn't fit the bars like I was hoping but I ended up finding a great spot for it. You can also attach this to a cat house if you have a house that doesn't have scratches.

Anyway it would be better if there really was velcro on all 4 sides to fix it on my sofa. But I found how to make it work for me. Definitely not as durable as shown in the photos as I can see through the rug. If it protects my sofas, I'll take it.

Replaces our old one, same brand but much smaller. The velcro is a step up as we wrapped it around the pinball machine's leg and secured it with plastic electrical wire ties. Both cats love it and use it many times throughout the day. I just want it to get bigger.

Update: I've had it for almost two years now and it's still present and usable. No regret. I wasn't sure how well the velcro would work, but I was impressed to see that it stuck well to the corner of the lounger. I wanted to use it for the corner of my mattress. Now I'm buying a few more :)

This is great. You can put it on the edge of the sofa or wrap it around other furniture. However, the velcro is not very strong and my cat pulls it off immediately when he wants to use it. It must be strong enough to withstand actual use. Also, the velcro is only on the corners, not all the way around, so it's only secured on 2 sides, not all 4 sides.

Velcro is not good. It's only on two edges and doesn't stick to anything. I wanted to wrap it around the front edges of the chair but the flexibility is poor and as I said the velcro was useless. I would have to attach it with some kind of nails that could damage the fabric. This design can be wrapped around the legs of a table or chair, or simply thrown on the floor, sprinkled with catnip and the cats will enjoy. I wanted to use this on my sofa as per the picture to the left of the product image where it says 'Protect Your Sofa' and 'Customer Pictures'. The velcro doesn't stick to our fabric sofa at all and only to two edges on each side of the scratching post. I love how easy it is to just slap them on the edge of our sofa as they have velcro. My cats used them in place of the other sides of the sofa for a while but after a while they started scratching them (I have two) and it definitely helps maintain the fabric of the sofa. I bought a very similar one, maybe even from the same manufacturer, but this one was NOT sewn. Velcro pieces didn't fit well together so it was always loose. Only today I finally had time to compare the old one with this one. I regret not taking the time to compare them earlier to replace with one that works.
