what i needed Maybe not what you need.

Love it. It's thin, light, the bottom doesn't slip when cutting or drawing... in a direction that would obviously render it useless ;)). Depending on what you need, this may not be for you. Also, Home Depot seems to have thicker rulers at a lower price. I love having this in my desk drawer. Ideal for cutting cardstock and pictures lengthwise up to 15 inches (for longer cuts I'd prefer something sturdier).

Pros
  • Measuring range: 0-12 inch/30 cm
Cons
  • Requires outlet

Good quality ruler but not what I was looking for

I bought this ruler to measure moles and lesions at a medical exam. I decided to buy this particular model and not Miltex simply because of the cost. The difference is enough that I'll classify this line for desktop use and buy Miltex instead. It's just too heavy and the corners are a bit sharp and I don't want it accidentally hitting my patients.

Pros
  • Metric and imperial units; The back has a non-slip cork base.
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Be careful and make sure it works for you.

I bought this so I wouldn't have to go back and forth to get a 2 foot metal ruler for my editing table. I wanted something beautiful but affordable and it needed a cork lid to protect the photos I use it on. It's well made and feels solid, but I've just used it for the first time and noticed (after cutting) that the zero mark does NOT start at the front of the ruler! I understand that some of these companies do this so the measurements aren't inaccurate due to leading edge markings or bends…

Pros
  • Engraved with 1/16 divisions
Cons
  • No instructions
