🔴 HV-65 Pint: Exceptional High Viscosity Mold Making Rubber for Natural Liquid Latex Review

I couldn't get this product to stick and it smelled like rotten eggs on month old teenage socks. When I looked it up online, people said it shouldn't smell. I returned it. The only spot that had healed turned dark ivory yellow.

My bottle arrived with the seal intact, when I broke the seal I found nothing but hard latex. It arrived as a solid latex, not a liquid as advertised. Looking at the bottle I see no trace of a date code. This may be 20 years old, I think some sellers are using Amazon as a dumping ground for expired products! I see this possibility in many negative reviews.

Bought this product to make brick molds for my model railway. Before using it, I went online to find out how to use it. A few things to keep in mind when creating a cast of something. First, make sure the pattern is clean. Second, spray some silicone spray (from an auto parts store). Thirdly, you need to apply several layers of the product. I found 15 layers worked well. This product deserves a higher rating as it served my mask making endeavors very well. It's thick, but not so thick that it's hard to pour out of the bottle, and it's easy to spread out when needed. It doesn't get four stars because it's a bad product, but because it doesn't seem to want to peel off the plaster once it sets, which has never happened with the thinner liquid latex products I've used before. If you don't use plaster, you will have an easier time loosening the latex.

I tried 4 different products to get very finely detailed replicas. Entire item is less than one inch in size. I get great results using it the way I've learned from my own experience. For fine details I suggest applying 3 coats of rubber and giving each coat a full day to cure. After the 3rd coat, allow to dry until the surface is no longer tacky. I have used rubber molds dozens of times with this method and am very pleased with the results. It is soft, easy to remove from plaster and resistant
