Today I made mashed potatoes following the recipe by Chef John from Food Wishes on YouTube. I modified it a bit by using this potato digger instead of the pusher he used. Everyone at the table swore it was the best mashed potatoes they had ever eaten. The recipe gets 90% praise and the potato rice cooker gets the remaining 10% because it's so easy to cook potatoes without lumps.

I've only used it once so honestly I can't speak to its durability but considering the solid steel it looks like it will last. This is a replacement for a racer (of a different brand) that broke after many uses so I hope it doesn't meet the same fate. It's easy to use, but don't overload it or you'll need all your strength to push the potatoes through. The results are delicious!

This is the only way to make mashed potatoes with this potato masher because potatoes taste better than anything else. Potatoes were peeled before mashing to avoid clogging the tamper holes. I ate the peel separately. It will be a pleasure for all who use it. It looks like it's made in Italy and is dishwasher safe. Every kitchen should have a potato masher that is easy to use and easy to clean.

Description states material is "strong stainless steel". It is not. Yes, it's metal, but if it's steel, it's the brittlest steel I've ever seen. If I squeeze the handles with one hand without potatoes, I can see/feel them flexing. We'll see what happens when I actually put potatoes in it, but the rice cooker I have now (actually made and bought in Italy) is really stainless steel and the handles don't bend even when I stand on them. .

Product production seems better than average. It's functional. Ergonomics are lame in my opinion. Designers are not always to blame. You have to achieve this price: design something that works. As for me, I'm willing to pay twice as much for something less bulky. If you want something functional, it looks like it can work if used at a low cost. This is for you.
