It's not hard work at all.

Description states material is "strong stainless steel". It is not. Yes, it's metal, but if it's steel, it's the brittlest steel I've ever seen. If I squeeze the handles with one hand without potatoes, I can see/feel them flexing. We'll see what happens when I actually put potatoes in it, but the rice cooker I have now (actually made and bought in Italy) is really stainless steel and the handles don't bend even when I stand on them. .
