This is an 80gph unit, not an 800gph unit as listed

This is not what it is advertised as. It's a small pump at best 80 gallons per hour. The filter mesh came with cracks. I have many pumps, small and large, so I know the difference. Don't buy this pump if you think it uses about 800 gallons an hour. I will return it for the actual 800GPH pump.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Lots

Description changed from 800gph to 400gph

When I order these the pump pic is green and listed as 800gph with a much higher price. I feel like it really is about 400gph just because it's no different than my old pump which is listed as 400gph. My old pump, over a year old, is quieter than this one. And lastly (not really their fault) I had to flush it first (which I never did with my other pumps), so much oil came out that it took me hours to remove my pond.

Pros
  • Trial for one year
Cons
  • Low repairability

Small pump for all occasions

My basement is now flooded with flash floods in my new house for the first time at a new location. I ordered this pump for small jobs not related to the basement. At the time of writing we are in the middle of a COVID-19 lockdown and I live in a rural area, everything local is closed. So this pump worked overtime for several hours pumping water out of the basement and did a wonderful job, I had to turn it off several times because it was no longer submerged in water. I expect the motor to burnโ€ฆ

Watts not as advertised

for those skeptical of the advertised pump in watts per gallon per hour, I felt it was off, every other pump was about 50 watts per 800 gallons per hour. while this pump requires 24 watts. Well, it turns out it's 57 watts, that's headless and even no whistle. I just throw it in the water, turn it on, wait for it to settle down and take a picture of the kilowatt. If the pipe and head are included I'm sure it will be higher performance. I'll probably leave it like any cheap water pump, it matches

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • I will add later

Good but not quite as advertised.

I ran some tests to see if this pump would suit my needs (not the aquarium). First test: check if the maximum stroke is really 10 feet. The answer is no, it's a 9ft max with a very small trickle, maybe 1 gallon per hour when climbing to 9ft. Second test: flow rate climbing 6 feet through pipes of different diameters. 3/8" ID tubing with 6' stroke: 60 GPH. 1/2" ID tubing with 6' stroke: 120 gph. 1" ID pipe at 4' rise (sorry didn't have a 6'): 300 gph. Both tests, done with 3/8" and 1/2" pipesโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
