I have a skinny 16 year old son who doesn't often wear shorts and needed a pair for a trip to Florida in August. It is difficult to fit as it is too small for a man's waist and boys clothes may look small or husky at his size. He was very happy with these shorts, they didn't look unkempt and weren't too tight to move.

These are our favorite uniform shorts. At first I was worried about the size because for the first time I had to use waist measurements instead of age. His normal size 8 translates very well to a size 23, but be aware that once you switch to waist measurements, the shorts no longer have pull tabs for resizing.
