Getting started with this product is easy. Just plug the clips into 400W and the other end into your car's cigarette lighter. Sockets and USB ports work very well. I took it for a test drive today upon receipt and it easily charged my phone and computer from the car outlet. For anything over 150w as stated in the manual you need to connect the alligator clips directly to the battery. It will definitely come in handy when camping and just on the road. The running fan of the inverter is very quiet, so you don't even notice how it works while you have it on. The inverter car adapter plug can be used when the power is less than 150W. Briefly tested a 400W inverter. I powered up a multi-speed 2.1a fan on either side of 110v and hooked up USB devices to both ports to make sure everything was working before tossing it in the camping/outdoor tub in the garage.
