VViViD Black Carbon Release Technology Exterior Accessories : Vinyl Wraps & Accessories Review

I bought this to customize my cell phone and some pocket knives. I simply used a precision knife to cut the vinyl into the desired shape and then simply used the burner on the stove to activate the adhesive. It has worked wonderfully and I have already received compliments. My friends want me to customize their accessories now.

When unfolded straight, the backing paper separates from the fiber, looks like a crumpled carpet, the protrusions do not lay flat on the product. The glue will dry if not used immediately. I unwrapped it to smooth it out and remove frizz and installed it two weeks later. This resulted in blistering in dry areas, especially two days after installation. Tip - leave rolled up until ready to use.

Once you get the hang of it, this thing is really good. Glue one edge to the glass and heat it, stretch it a little, then cool it, then use a crumpled stretched mess. Works great, only heats up when needed. and blue fiber is basically the same as black as you edit it. I didn't heat the piece in the picture at all, having heated it in front of my hand. The material tears easily. In fact, I played through the entire role just for the hood. I don't know if the material I received was defective. As I said, if I could I would return it. Now everything is in the trash. This material must be stretched to a certain limit. I know I didn't have to stretch it too much for it to break. To update! So I got new stuff and it worked better. This works well on flat surfaces but not so well on inside or outside curves. It doesn't get stuck in the sluggish majority of the curve. I had trouble smoothing out wrinkles on the outer curves, but that may have been my method. Overall, it has a great look and texture. Be sure to leave excess material around the edges so you don't stretch it around the rounded edges. And don't rush it or heat it too much, it will melt. 750 is hot enough. I experimented to find the right temperature.

I was surprised at how easy it was to work with. I've never worked with anything like this before. We bought a used Kegerator and the previous owner hand painted the original wood grain wrap and applied a decal to hide some of the dents and imperfections on the door. It's forgivable enough that it'll still hold up well if you have to take a bit of weight off during installation. I bought 2 rolls, the color in the rolls was different and the direction of the pattern. One has a horizontal print on the substrate while the other has a vertical print. One roll was compressed as if it was packaged for retail sale, the other looked like it had been cut from a larger roll and only had a piece of tape on it.
