I've read a few other reviews here where people have complained that when they plug into the cigarette lighter they don't have enough power for their application and I just had to shake my head. Most cigarette lighter covers have a nice sticker on the inside that clearly states the maximum consumption of 120 watts. Use the included battery clips if you want to run something that uses more power. A 400W inverter can only run what is fed to it. So don't blame the product for not putting out 400W…

I have been using Wagan inverters in my car, van and on the water for over 10 years. This is the brand we chose when we wanted to enable our customers to use our product in cars and RVs. After selling (and using) a few dozen Wagans we're seeing a few of them fail, but overall they're a lot more reliable than usual. Two things you must do when you receive this inverter: 1. Try it2. Register on the Wagan website to receive a one-year warranty (if you do not register within 30 days of purchasing the product, you will not be eligible for the warranty, which I was not able to do).
