I'm not a hairdresser but I've been cutting my own hair for over 20 years. I had never heard of step tooth blades before so I decided to give it a try. I've used them 5 times already and to be honest I can't tell any difference between these blades and my standard Wahl Pro blades. All I can say is the sound he makes when he cuts his hair. This is the best hair clipper, great clipper over the comb and you can hear the hair being cut so you can adjust the length if the level of fading applies. I would say keep them oiled as always. And follow the installation instructions, the blade works best if you align it slightly to the right of the larger blade. (*A notice)

I haven't done this on some new clippers (except Wahl clippers) and my wife didn't know. I have long hair and it is thick. The cut is super smooth. But when she flipped the clippers upside down to work my neck, it hurt like oh my god. That first touch cut her throat, then forced her to draw the blades back in one grip.
