Pretty good way to raise the bars without swapping them out. It locks fairly tightly thanks to the interference mechanism (conical locking ramps that come together as you tighten the screw). However, I had to slightly exceed the torque spec for it to engage firmly with no noticeable play. It will never be as durable as a one-piece stem, but should be fine for city/trail riding and light trails.

Received this to update the 'new to me' Giant Roam for a more upright fit. It worked great and improved the ride quality by raising the handlebars and bringing them in line with the stem. It appears to be well built and I haven't had any issues. The stem attachment piece that attaches to the headset is shorter than the standard piece, so buy some headset spacers to make this work. 4 stars because I've only been using it for a few weeks so I don't know how long it will last. Otherwise I like it.

This required 5mm and 10mm shims to work with my existing headstock shims, so the local bike shop stocks them and costs $4 to install. When this detail is taken care of, this is a wonderful product. I have a 36 inch inseam. To be comfortable on the bike, the seatpost needs to be as far out as possible, and that can make the bars long - that moved the bars up and back and removed a lot. the weight my arms had to bear. Huge improvement!

I bought a UNO brand adjustable stem that used to work fine so I decided to buy another for a different bike. UNO was out of stock at the time so I opted for a wake stem. They look the same and I thought they were made by the same company anyway. After installing the wake on my bike I noticed about 3/8" play" in the pivot allowing for angle adjustment. I couldn't get rid of it no matter what I did. I gave up and returned it and bought another UNO which was back in stock and voila - no game not…

Great aftermarket stem. Concerned that you could never tighten the pivot screw enough to prevent movement. It turns out that this is not a problem. The inner surfaces have a so-called rosette pattern. Essentially, it's a series of connected "v's". The result is that once he engulfed the city, he didn't move. This works, but is frustrating for a number of reasons. First, the angle adjustment becomes loose if you don't turn the screw like a gorilla. This is difficult with a regular old hex wrench. More like a long-handled allen wrench. And you risk tearing the thread. Another annoyance is that there are four smaller bolts on the front handlebar clamp instead of two 5mm socket head bolts, so you'll have to find another wrench. I've been using this callout for about 2 weeks. I drive frequently and do wheelie, track and general driving. This suitcase has so far withstood what I have given it.
