Description of ๐Ÿ”‡ Walker Quiet-Flow 21046 Performance Exhaust Muffler for Enhanced Sound Suppression

CORROSION RESISTANT STAINLESS STEEL -- The only broad-market muffler with 100% stainless-steel construction that delivers longer life versus aluminized mufflers while an internal drainage system reduces moisture collection. EASY TO INSTALL -- Direct-fit bolt-on replacement solution with OE-style hangers, brackets and pipe routings for easy installation and doesn't require specialized fabrication and/or welding. BUILT TO LAST -- Internal partitions and mechanically joined tubes allow expansion and contraction during temperature changes to minimize distortion while spun-locked heads and OE-style spot welds provide stability and longer service life. PREMIUM ACOUSTIC CONTROL -- OE-style louvered tubes lower noise levels while OE-style domed heads help reduce radiated noise for premium factory-style sound quality compared to straight perforated tubes. DESIGN VALIDATED -- Acoustic and flow tested for quality OE-style sound you can count on.

Nice looking unit. Best in Mufflers

Good for K1500 and quiet when loaded. I would also recommend the Walker intermediate and exhaust pipes. Go to their website for part #. Can't comment on durability, will update this at some point.

Pros
  • Grand Prize
Cons
  • Repair

Sound and functionality like original GM equipment. A+

Same size, packaging and sound as the original. Buy an intermediate pipe, an exhaust pipe, with a muffler. they are all rusty inside. With two zip ties and a good pair of channel locking pliers, you can remove the rubber hangers and get the job done in under an hour.

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Much

I sounds like a factory muffler

Appears to be an exact replacement for the 98 GM 1500. I sounds like a factory muffler. Locally, a similar muffler will cost $175 without installation. At the time of writing it has been used for at least 1 year. The heat shield stays on. The inlet and outlet pipes did not roll.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Very expensive

Time will tell how good he is.

First use of a stainless steel silencer. In the past I've been disappointed with stock mufflers. They lasted no more than 2-3 years. Let's see how long a stainless steel muffler lasts. It doesn't look completely rust free. Follow-up: Well, 4 years later, the muffler is rusting. It is clear that not everything is made of stainless steel. Rusted aluminized Walker exhaust pipe. It's surprising that OEMs can produce durable exhaust systems that aftermarket manufacturers can't.

Pros
  • Hands-free mode
Cons
  • old

Good deal for the price (but not 100% stainless steel).

1995 Chevy K1500 add. cab 5.7 164k I installed #21046 in February 2008. Only drive a truck 2k a year. In 2013, this #21046 rusted through the lower back seam just prior to our annual state inspection in Pennsylvania. So not 100% rustproof (ss). If you're keeping your car for a long time, a free lifetime muffler replacement warranty is a tough deal. .In 2008, my mistake was that I sent the original receipt with a $30 discount. Now I can't prove I bought the original to get a free replacement. So

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Compatible
