Easy to assemble

Muffler easy to assemble, nice and quiet. I have used Walker exhaust parts for a long time and have always found them to be of good quality.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Unsealed but accessible

Welds were not sealed, used puddle of exhaust to seal properly. A cheap muffler that lasts 3-4 or even 5 years but can be easily replaced with 04 Silverado 4.3 v6.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Reliability

good replacement muffler

Replaced a terribly noisy double pane on a recently purchased used truck. It's a lot quieter, just a small hum that makes it clear it's a V8 engine. I doubt "stainless steel" means it won't rust after all, you can attach magnets to it.

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Perfect fit just check the part numbers

I bought the components from r the cat back and they fit perfectly. Note: Part numbers can be found on the Walker website. The numbers on here were wrong for 1 of the 3 components, that saved me from replacing them.

Pros
  • Great fit for me
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Is this stainless steel.

The OEM muffler for the 2003 Silverado is a one-piece welded CAT rear system and costs about $800-$1100. The aftermarket systems were bare steel and didn't last long. The only stainless steel I could find after the muffler was the Walker. My front pipe and exhaust are also stainless steel but were in good condition. I carefully cut out the muffler, used a heavy duty pipe expander on the exhaust pipe inlet, temporarily reassembled the system, took my time and marked the inlet and outlet, removed

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • I won't say anything

TO UPDATE! Pretty expensive for a silencer. To update!

I was under the impression it would be as quiet as a standard muffler, many reviews said it was that quiet but I think they had a muffler that was too long and I forgot how quiet the native is muffler was. It's not LOUD, but it definitely rumbles a bit, and the stock muffler was a lot quieter. I figured for the money I spent I would get a muffler that was as quiet as stock. The inlet slipped over the intermediate pipe and could get pinched, but the outlet was almost the same OD as the outlet so

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Has issues
