Quality NOT!: High performance parts and accessories

The first lasted almost two years. The pipe has come loose from the muffler due to rust. The second one, covered by the warranty, didn't fit properly. The pipe was not welded perpendicular to the muffler. I'm waiting for the third.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Upgrades

Poor quality: exhaust systems and parts

I am currently using a Walker 3rd muffler on our 2008 Toyota Sienna Van. The first Walker replacement muffler lasted a couple of years, but the one I just replaced only lasted 10 months. A part is welded to the muffler where the pipe enters the guarantee from the front. In both breakdowns, the welded part rusts and then falls off. We're getting rid of the van soon, so it's going to be a problem for the next owner.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not sure

If that muffler really is "stainless steel, " I'll eat my hat!

My muffler started to "stain" - rust, just a few months after installing it. Finally it failed recently when welding the intake flange pipe to the muffler body, the same seems to be reporting from everyone else. I've ridden it for 4 years and 50,000 miles, probably just because we have pretty slick roads and mild winters here. Honestly, as a quality specialist, I'd happily pay twice as much for a quality product, but who offers a muffler like that? I would suggest cleaning the area around the…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

They count on most people ignoring the warranty

Let's face it. Nobody, including Walker, makes decent aftermarket mufflers these days. A class action lawsuit was to be filed against Walker for falsely advertising stainless steel mufflers. If a magnet sticks to it, it's not stainless steel! If it rusts after 1-2 years, then it's not stainless steel! They have some stainless steel and that's what they call it. I bought my first Walker for my Toyota van in September 2015. I had to replace it a year later (they fulfilled the warranty) and then…

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
