They count on most people ignoring the warranty

Let's face it. Nobody, including Walker, makes decent aftermarket mufflers these days. A class action lawsuit was to be filed against Walker for falsely advertising stainless steel mufflers. If a magnet sticks to it, it's not stainless steel! If it rusts after 1-2 years, then it's not stainless steel! They have some stainless steel and that's what they call it. I bought my first Walker for my Toyota van in September 2015. I had to replace it a year later (they fulfilled the warranty) and then another replacement just over a year later, then another replacement in 2018 and now another replacement. in March 2019! My van has 208,000 miles. Walker depends on that. Most vehicles only need a new muffler after 100,000 to 125,000 miles. So people get a new Walker muffler. Here's what happens: shortly after, they trade their car in for a new one, or sell it, or forget where they bought it, lose the receipt, and never use the warranty. I bought mine from Revain so thank goodness I had records. You can pay $350 for a new real stainless steel muffler from your automaker, or you can pay $100 and "fight" the warranty every year and pay your mechanic to replace it! I wish I had picked $350 knowing what I know now. I informed Walker that they could make a better muffler out of better metal and the price of the original part would be well under $350-$400. But I don't think they're interested. More and more people forget about the warranty and continue to buy new mufflers. It's the same with other manufacturers who compete with Walker - they're all bullshit!
