My muffler started to "stain" - rust, just a few months after installing it. Finally it failed recently when welding the intake flange pipe to the muffler body, the same seems to be reporting from everyone else. I've ridden it for 4 years and 50,000 miles, probably just because we have pretty slick roads and mild winters here. Honestly, as a quality specialist, I'd happily pay twice as much for a quality product, but who offers a muffler like that? I would suggest cleaning the area around the muffler flange/body and applying a few coats of high temp paint to slow the rapid rusting in that area of this "stainless steel" muffler.
