Not for 5.9 Magnum.

2000 Ram 1500 4x4 Laramie 5.9 Magnum Thought my TPS was bad due to hesitation when accelerating. Installed this TPS, resulting in: - High idle - Intake misfire - Erratic acceleration - Transmission would not shift into 4th gear and overdrive. Of course, I put the old one back in and all the problems went away immediately.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • I will add later

With the 2000 model, the supplied sealing ring must be removed 5.9.

Easy to replace but if installed with the o-ring provided it will fail. The O-ring will cause the block not to lie flat against the throttle body, which will jam the internal components of the TPPS, resulting in malfunctions, fast rough idle, shifting errors and the check engine light coming on.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Don't buy this junk, failed in a month

This failed in a month on a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L. I would not recommend this item. It always gave the TPS engine code P0123. I ended up buying a Borg Warner EC3208 sensor from O'Reilly's. After that there are no questions. The Borg Warner part costs twice as much, but it comes with good instructions and spare screws and gaskets. None of this was in the Walker product. I want to return the money but I don't know how.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Zero

I replaced this TPS in December 2018 and it failed after just a month! What really annoyed me was that since I had just replaced this sensor I was looking for a bad connection, bad wiring in the harness and checking every connection because it couldn't be possible for this TPS to fail that quickly! I even checked for vacuum leaks, found nothing. I bought a new one from Autozone which cost more than this one, I got a BWD TPS, better quality, heavier, more reliable. CEL installed, cleaned, testโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Concise instructions
