I purchased one of these blenders in July 2011 and have been using it every day since to make frozen fruit smoothies and milkshakes. I don't have enough good words to say about it. My college-age daughter is moving soon, so I bought another one. I have two other daughters and I still need a powerful blender. It's a real workhorse, easy to clean, not overly expensive compared to the Vitamix, and made in the USA.

I have had 4 of these units (because I bought them all at the same time). At first sight/use they work well and are attractively priced. However, they often fail (within 3 months) with moderate use (around 125 drinks per week). At this point the blade assemblies will either begin to leak or the bearings will fail. This device is dangerous! We had two versions of Waring blenders with the same defect! The first few weeks of use were great! This blender was a powerhouse! And then one day he turned himself on! I looked at the switch and it was off so I unplugged it, plugged it into a different outlet and immediately back to high speed. Now that I've used it I thought I'd add some information that would help me in my decision making process. Firstly, it has a soft start mode, which is common in industrial plants and significantly extends the life of the motor. It's not what you choose, it's just how it starts.
