This is the same wine center that Hammacher Schlemmer thinks is the best. And it proves! Well built, runs very smoothly, the corkscrew has the right pitch so the cork doesn't break. Very clean and tidy to use and store.

Corkscrew works great. It seems to be slightly more powerful than my old one, which recently finally died. The vacuum pump is practically useless. Very weak and slow. My old one was a little more powerful but still didn't create enough vacuum to store wine for more than a day. If you can only find an electric corkscrew, I recommend buying one.

An attractive unit for combining two devices that we are used to. Good that you only have to connect one base station. Follow the winemaker's instructions to SECOND pump each bottle with less than half its contents. I quickly found that if you only express once, the cork won't close when you open the bottle the next day.

The unit was initially liked and sold at an attractive price but never lived to be 2 years old. We keep it in our winter house so we only use it about 6 months a year. The first 2 winters worked fine, but after 7 months of inactivity without connecting to the network, Opener stops taking a charge and Preserver charges, but only holds a charge for a couple of hours. I'm not sure if it's a charger or battery issue, but I'm not happy that I no longer need either device.
