good value, good fit for shock absorbers

For the money this item offers a good ride but is not designed for heavy use like 4WD shock absorbers. I like the 3-speed adjustment when the road calls for it. hard on rolling asphalt, soft when you need a little cushioning. 1/4 the cost of some products!

Pros
  • Easy to fit
Cons
  • Almost never

Great job - seems well done!

I just replaced the rear shock absorbers on a 2006 Lexus GX470. The kit included all bushings and a new replacement top nut. The shock absorbers look and feel OEM. You can't beat the price. hope they hold up. I felt an improvement in handling after replacing the old rusty shock absorbers.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • weak

These are factory dampers.

I was very pleasantly surprised when I opened the box and found Toyota shock absorbers. Needless to say, they were MUCH cheaper than the Lexus dealership. Remember that if you have electronic ride control, you must use these dampers, otherwise the system will be disabled. They were on my 2005 Lexus GX 470.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Compatibility

Buy these shock absorbers, don't buy the cheaper ones!

I used these shock absorbers on a Lexus GX470 SUV to replace the original shock absorbers which had corroded and destroyed one of the newly installed airbags. Be sure to purchase shocks with the same cable type so they work properly with the suspension height adjust switch.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Not all will fit

Wrong direction is best for shock absorbers, struts and suspension

Just fit them today. One of the shock absorbers was installed incorrectly. The wire connection was on the opposite side as it should be, or more specifically, the top piece of metal was placed on the wrong side to make sure it didn't rotate. Luckily it was long enough to put everyone at ease, but I was still disappointed. Technically, the first 45 minutes were good. Let's see how they behave over time

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Some problems

Direct replacement for shocks, struts and suspension

My only issue was that one of the shocks was missing a top nut. Didn't realize it until I installed one and put the wheel back on. Not knowing what size it was, I had to remove the wheel and top nut again to try and find a match. The size turned out to be 12mm / 1.25. This is a lock nut with a plastic insert. Finally found one at Menards. And no, I couldn't just use the old ones as both were so rusted that they would break rather than come loose.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Good but not great

Works perfectly. Some differences with OEM

Working well so far but the one I received was non-OEM under the sticker as some other reviews found. For those who do not have a large selection of workshop tools and may be purchasing a 17mm disposable wrench for a DIY project, please note that the top screw is not factory size (17mm) but is 18mm. So you will need 2 wrenches - to remove the old 17mm bolt and put in the new 18mm bolt. Eventually, the shock body rotates, so you'll also need something to hold it in place to tighten the top bolt…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Pretty ok

There is a Toyota OEM shock absorber, one is unmarked.

Ordered this after reading other reviews. I was happy to see one stamped Toyota shock absorber and one unfortunately unmarked. So it's weird. Regardless, they come with everything you need for installation, and the ride is a huge improvement over the old KYB passive shocks I installed when the stock shocks started leaking. Let's see how they hold up over time. *August 2021 update* Brought these SUVs to CO and they have held up well. At the moment I only have them in the back of the truck. For…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Some difficulties
