🌀 Zanyzap 12 Water Filter Polishing Pads, Compatible with Fluval 104 105 106 204 205 206 Review

I was running out of Fluval's standard polishing pads so decided to try these because they are cheaper. Within days of changing the filter pads, the water was crystal clear, much cleaner than ever. They are durable and more are included so they last a long time.

I've just used these for the first time after using standard Fluval flosses (which seem harder to find) - they're actually better than Fluval I think I - seemed to filter out a lot more sludge in the same period of time I changed them, with minimal impact on flow. (I use them in a G6 filter cartridge).

So I received this today and I can tell from the packaging that it is different from Fluval's filter floss. As many other reviews have said they don't quite fit the baskets 206 wall to wall. There is a small gap between the cushion and the wall as can be seen in the photos. Also the thickness is not that thick compared to the Fluval brand. In my picture with a red background, you can see this product on the left and the Fluval brand on the right.

While there's not much to say about these fake nameless filter pads, they seem to work just as well as the branded ones. They fit Fluval 100 and 200 series canisters and as expected they fit right into my 106. However, they aren't as thick as Fluval filters, but you can squeeze about 3 of them into one. basket if you like. I prefer 2 pads and a bag of Purigen. Identical in size/shape and material to the OEM Fluval pads, but with a better feel (heavier thread maybe?). It fits snugly so there is no water bypass. They are durable enough to be rinsed out with tank water or filter water after a water change as it can be reused multiple times. However, they are so inexpensive that they can be easily replaced as each filter medium loses its effectiveness over time. I recommend using 2 pads.
