🎨 12ml Tube Set of New Water Marbling Paint with 12 Colors - Complete Marble Kit Review

This item was VERY dirty. The pipes were leaking everywhere. Smells terrible, takes a long time to dry. Does not replace Suminagashi marble colors. You cannot use a brush to create rings.

I have enjoyed making DIY envelopes with these very vibrant colors. They differ slightly from typical marble colors. They are oil based so the more paint you apply the longer it will take to dry. Also, they don't form a film on the water surface, so the shooting is also a bit different. Seems to work best on paper.

If you have never heard of marbling or have tried it, you should definitely get this product! My grandkids love it and best of all there is no mess! Just drop a drop in the water, add other colors and "float" the paper on the water and do magic! I learned this technique and bought special rice paper. Then I thought would regular computer paper work? Yes, thicker card stock works well too. Have fun!

I have used water based oil free marble ink in the past and had success with it, but with this oil based ink I have noticed severe color separation and less fluidity. It's like mixing oil and water (surprise surprise!), plus this ink takes a lot longer to dry and makes a big mess. While the colors are bright and beautiful, I wasn't really expecting or looking for it.

Can't get them to stop leaking everywhere! I used a few paints, put them back in the box and came back about a week later to find they had spread all over the inside of the box. They're oil-based, so they make one hell of a mess, but they're hard to clean. I screwed all the caps on as tight as I could, but when I squeeze them, the ink flows out just below the cap. The colors themselves? No complaints, however: There's not much "marbling" in them. Some colors easily turn into fancy patterns, they do not match. Some colors tend to blend VERY easily (just with each other, not with other colors), while others don't spread easily at all, tending to not just remain round blobs but not dry out afterwards! This was a really fun project for my kids and we were very happy with the results. The paint/ink worked well enough, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it unless you know what you're doing and know it's what you want. They are based on oil and work on the principle that oil has a lower density than water. They have an incredibly strong oily smell. Even though we did it outside, the whole house stunk. It was like working with gasoline. I'm not entirely sure if they are non-toxic and that worries me.

Please don't waste your money on this marble color set. I was taking a Suminagashi class at my local library and the teacher recommended I buy paint from Revain (Innovation Marbling Kit, Japanese Suminagashi by Aitoh).
