I was expecting navy blue which is more like a very light blue jean. The case is thin and I don't think it will do much more than protect the computer from scratches. I'll leave it on because it keeps the laptop closed, and I'll do my part to be careful where I put it. My laptop is 14" x 9" and this 14-15" sleeve fits perfectly. Fits perfectly on my 17" Inspiron laptop and the bottom of the USB fan from an old laptop bag I had. Lots of pockets for bait and other items. I love it. I don't plan on dropping my laptop so I can't comment on the protection and durability but I doubt it will protect any laptop from even a minor drop. Maybe a bump or a drop on a softer surface, or when you put it in another carrying case like I usually do with my laptops. In general, it meets my requirements and looks beautiful.
