Awesome device with some slight variability

I'm using it to monitor my sump pump with a raspberry pi zero w and raspi-sump. So far it's working very well. I didn't realize that this version of the sensor does 3.3v-5v. I ended up just wiring it up with a voltage divider so it's running in 5v mode. There was a youtube video of a person complaining that the sensor was unreliable but others hypothesized that it might be because he didn't have stable power coming from his arduino. Overall great - my new review

The sensor works really well, however if anything is touching the pcb then the sensor just reads out roughly 24 cm continuously.

No good for use below 20-F.

I bought two of these and one worked and the other did not. During Summer I was very happy with the working one for our 2500 water tank. It occasionally sent a crazy figure but the level did not change much each day so I ignored anything over the tank depth and averaged the rest. All good enough.Then came Fall and the temp dipped to 18-F-degrees. We have pipe-tape heaters on the tank pipes to prevent freezing so not a big deal. But, the JSN board just gave up and sent weird numbers all the time

Nice quality sensor.

The quality of the soldering joints were good on this. I used this in my outdoor fpv tank and it works as intended for me. Now i just to need design a 3d printed case for it. Overall it works as intended but i haven't submerged it water to test the waterproof of it.

Not good for Human Detection

Very non repeatable to Soft body detection. After I went through the effort to research the code problems I only found out that it was good at detecting solid boards - Very discouraged with the out door sensor

Excellent Ultrasonic Module

The ultrasonic module works extremely well. I got the sample sketch from the website provided when I purchased the unit and off I went. I needed a detector that could hold up to the elements and this is working well for me. Pretty straight forward to use and works well right out of the box. Will be getting a couple more.

You can extend the cable from the Ultrasonic Sensor

overall it works, pros - its water proof, cons - the Ultrasonic Sensor cable can not be extended. I tried. you will need to house the circuit board and mount it away from the Arduino or Board of your choice. and extend the power ground trig echo circuits. so far I have the cable at 20 feet and it works.

  • The maximum range of the sensor (approximately 6 meters) may not be sufficient for some applications

Not very accurate for my needs

Very easy to use with ESP32, Raspberry Pi or Arduino. Not very accurate for my needs (I need 1 mm precision) and has many missed readings (zero readings) which complicates programming.

Excellent ultrasonic module. Recommended

I got a BUNCH of different sensors in one of those "explore the Arduino" kits. Unsurprisingly (considering the price), most of those sensors were garbage. In fact, I used one of the ultrasonic sensors when I was wanting to make a parking distance device for my garage. Great module for (shorter) distance measuring. Works very well, easy to integrate into projects, great documentation.
