Geyser carburetor Edition

Finally installed the thing today and shot fuel like a geyser into the upper ventilation pipe! Something is being pushed out, the float isn't shutting off or anything. I've never seen such shooting with just a mechanical pump. Luckily the engine didn't catch fire

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Protection

The novice mechanic had no trouble installing it.

I needed a new carburetor for my 1975 CJ5 Jeep. I am new to mechanical repair. Thanks to a few YouTube videos, I was able to easily replace these. It's not set up, so it takes some time and an extra pair of hands to set up. My AMC 304 V8 now purrs like a kitten with no idle issues. The build quality also looks very good. Let's see how it holds up over time.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging

NOT suitable for Ford 351W 2V engine.

When I first opened the box there were no instructions and no carburetor gasket on the manifold. There was a 1/4" baseplate, but after installation the carb sat so high that I couldn't install the accelerator brace as there were no threads to reattach the carburetor nuts. Still I couldn't even reattach the accelerator pedal brace to the back of the carburetor because of the vacuum diaphragm interference, that's it, packed for return. What a waste of time!

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Damaged
