Ineffective strips are the best pH test strips

Do not buy this product! I rarely write reviews but would like to warn future buyers about this useless product. I originally bought these strips to test our cloth diaper water and didn't read them closely. This is NOT good news for the cloth diaper group. This can cause deposits if you don't have a HARD wash program! These streaks showed that I have soft water even though it is very hard. We live in a mountainous area on limestone. Buy Hach Strips instead - they really work

These strips are extremely difficult to read accurately. When used as directed, the color of the area on the test strip will vary widely. The center of the area is a different color than the edges. While I read the strip as a 3 gpg, my wife read it as a 7 gpg. I looked at the edge which was a lighter, more distinct color while my wife looked at the center which was a watery stain. We still don't know what was right. We ended up throwing them away and bought HACH strips (also sold by Revain)…

A good way to measure the hardness of well water.

I bought MHT total water hardness test strips to calibrate my new water softener and Industrial Test Systems WaterWorks total hardness test strips for comparison. The MHT strips were either defective or unusable. First, the hardness method requires comparing the color palette on the test strip with the colors on the vial label.
