Direct replacement at Faucet Parts

Replaced my old faucet which must have been 30 or 40 years old. This one fit perfectly. The entire exercise took 20 minutes from start to finish. Note: Be sure to replace them with new gaskets. I missed one in the packaging and had to take it apart to put it in as it leaked when I turned on the water. In general, it's fine, you just need to pay attention to something.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Has cons

Top screws cannot be removed

I'm using the second one in less than a week. I think this part would work amazingly if I could just loosen the screws. I took the valve to my local hardware store, they used whatever they had and couldn't get the bolts out. They said they had never seen a screw they couldn't unscrew before. I've tried all the baking powders. Looks like I'll have to hire a plumber to do a job I could easily do myself if the bolts on the valve weren't so tight.

  • Easy installation

Direct replacement for Oatey

My existing Oatey valve was leaking at the on/off lever. I've read that it can be fixed by replacing the o-rings, but figured it would be safer to replace the entire unit. With the top bolts removed, I was able to easily replace the existing Oatey valve. Two things to note: 1) You will need thicker o-rings to use this valve over existing stems. Obtain size #12 13/16 OD x 5/8 ID x 3/32 O-rings. 2) The pan head screws on top are a beast. I've found that using a vise to cut in the screw makes it…

It is impossible to unscrew the loops with a screwdriver.

I don't know why but the screws on this one are almost impossible to remove. Why the hell did they pull them so tight? I had to use a vise to hold the screw, which thank goodness someone wrote about. The second was so tight I had to bang the valve on the floor while holding it in a vise. Absolutely insane. After the screws were removed, the product worked normally. I would suggest buying a different brand. It was just crazy trying to get those screws out. Thanks to the person who suggested the…

O-rings may need replacing

I liked this product because it was well made and I'm not a plumber, but it was very easy to install, I only had to remove 4 screws, some advise keeping the old screws from the existing valve that you maybe they need, these The one that came with the new valve was a bit short and didn't work so I used the bolts that came from the old valve. The old adage "you get what you pay for" is very true. Especially when it comes to plumbing, don't try to save a few bucks and buy a cheaper valve, spend a…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Easy to maintain

Great device for warm lint so hose breaks don't cause costly water damage. A simple push-pull switch turns hot and cold water on/off. Installation was easy! At the top of each valve (hot/cold) there are screws that loosen/tighten the water connection underneath. The lower connections can be connected to the pipeline by loosening the upper screws. Once secured, tighten the top screw. and you are done. You *have* to use two wrenches when working with water fittings. one to hold the water pipe in…

Here are the problems and their solution

The company needs to improve the way it delivers the product. There are numerous complaints about people being unable to remove screws. It's one thing not having a system for getting feedback from customers (the blood of the company). It's another thing when online reviews are staring you in the face and you can't act. What helped me to remove the bolts was rotating the inlet fitting, which also rotates the bolt. This, for some reason, allowed to loosen the screw. For $40, it should come with…

It couldn't be simpler

I used this as a direct replacement for an Oatey check valve that was over 20 years old. As another reviewer noted (e.g. Frank Perkins - thanks Frank!), you also need to buy size #12 13/16 OD x 5/8 ID x 3/32 o-rings. The o-rings supplied with Watts are too small to provide a good seal. My valve is recessed into the wall, so it wasn't possible to insert a large screwdriver into the top screws. Don't worry, just use a socket wrench with a wide pan head screw. The extra length of the socket wrench
