Great little board for computer components

Great little hat for Pi Zero. Works well with FBTFT drivers (using st7735s and instructing driver to rotate 180 so memory addresses line up). The keys are active at low level. The only downside is that the posts that come with it are the same diameter as the holes, so the board sometimes slips through them a bit. Easy to fix by adding some extra padding.

The documentation is terrible. The device works great.

I got it working by following the instructions to install the Luma library (search for it on Github) and running the following command from the terminal python demo.py --interface spi -- display sh1106 used I do not understand, the screen was only 1 color. I was expecting it to have multiple colors. It wasn't clear to me from the description on this page.

Easy to Implement: Computers and Accessories

This hat is fairly easy to implement on the Raspberry Pi Zero W, although you have to be aware that it's a bit slow. For what I'm looking for, slowness isn't a big deal, but be aware that drawing in full screen mode takes a second or two. If you're using Python, expect about double that. The C/C++ libraries and code samples made it easy to get my specific application up and running quickly.

Error, tech support can't fix

I set up the screen using a Raspberry Pi Zero W and installed it following the instructions on the Waveshare website. The demo code worked fine. However, once I loaded the desktop, the screen as it appears starts about a third of the way horizontally across the screen and wraps around. I have contacted WaveShare Customer Service and still have not received any help. I am very disappointed as I have had positive experiences with other screens from them.

Worked great with my PiZero and Pitrezor wallet

The recommended Adafruit display was on standby so I took a chance using this display for my Pitrezor wallet project using my Raspberry Pi Zero to use and it worked great. I downloaded pitrezor os to the SD card and modified the pitrezor.conf settings below before installing in RPiZero:

Easy to install, found a great test script and got the demo up and running in just 10 minutes with a few system tweaks, was able to build the demo easily. The demo showed code for three buttons and a joystick, making it easy to create the launch of another ZeroW project. Also managed to find a few more tweaks to tweak the system to display the console instead of running the program to display on the LCD, all within the first 30 minutes of installing and powering on to zero. If anyone needs help
